Calendar

It's Thanksgiving ya'll! And you know what that means: time to go around the table and say what we're thankful for. This year we've got 10 wild and sexy wall calendars to give away courtesy of our friends at 10Percent.com. There's plenty of hot guys in the mix to get you through the year, including men from Butch Dixon and the Wild Boys doing all kinds of wild things, like holding skateboards in front of their junk! Just let us know in the comments below what you're thankful for this year as well as which calendar would float your boat and you'll automatically be entered to win 12 months of hotness. We'll notify the winners via your Daddyhunt inbox on the 29th.

I guess I'll kick things off. Last year I said I was thankful to all of you for all your engaging comments and posts. This year, I'm still thankful for that, but would also like to add hope to the list. I know it might seem silly, and maybe a little corny, but given the times we live in, and the disproportionate number of moments when it seems like everything has gone or is going to shit, hope is an amazingly powerful and driving force. Just look at the It Gets Better project or all these amazing decade long love stories we keep hearing about. It's these wonderfully positive reminders that make me think the future really will be something to look forward too. And I'm grateful for that.

Now it's your turn. What are you thankful for?

Bacon Lube

First there was bacconaise, then came bacon flavored vodka, and now the bacon gods have been kind (or disgusting) and created bacon lube. What started off as an April Fool's prank soon became a much in demand item, and the makers were left with no other choice than to go into production. And now this bacon flavored lubricant is taking piggy sex to a whole new level. As a bacon lover, I'm intrigued, but as a hater of flavored lubricants and condoms, I'm not sure I'm willing to give this a try.

What are your thoughts on bacon flavored sex? Any members willing to give this stuff a try and report back?

SSSS

Who knew studying Craig's List Missed Connections could be so fascinating? This week The Village Voice interviewed Ingrid Burrington, who has been processing the self made serendipity of Missed Connection ads into viable data. Her findings are pretty interesting, like that Equinox gyms are cruisier than New York Sports Clubs, and include pie charts and maps of the most common places and phrases found on the site. The world of missed connections is interesting all on it it's own, so to have someone doing in depth analysis on the posts makes for a good read.

There was a time in my life when I would go out into the world, see a guy I was attracted to, stare, debate, overthink, and ultimately do nothing about, only to regret it for days at a time. Didn't matter if it was at a gay bar, on the street, or at a party, the result was always the same: days of beating myself up about not making a proper move. Which is why I depended so heavily on Craig's List Missed Connections to do the rest, but rarely were my posts ever answered. One day I wised up and took the MTA's terrorism slogan to heart: see something, say something.

Whenever I'm out now and I see someone I'm attracted to, I force myself to go up to this person and at the very least introduce myself. Whether I bomb, make an impression, or the conversation ends right after hello, I know that I took...

Say No to Vampire Power!

No, I’m not talking about the Twilight series. I’m talking about the trickle of electricity that our cell phone chargers, televisions and other electronics continue to draw when they’re turned off, but still plugged in. Did you know it constitutes 5-22% of America’s total electricity usage? I’ve started using a Belkin Conserve Energy Saving Power Strip to fully power-down my media center when I’m not home. (It even has a remote control, so I don’t even have to get down on my knees or reach around to flip the switch.) I’ve shared a lot of green living tips on BillyKnowsBest.com, check them out and share some of yours in the comments below.

Gay Wedding Kiss

The progress we've made in the past few years is pretty spectacular when you think about it. Today, the LGBT community is closer than ever to having full equality. We're almost there. And as the dominoes of inequality continue to fall one after the other, we have to remember to keep the momentum going. Which is why today, we're asking you to do one tiny thing to help eliminate the Defense of Marriage Act. DOMA, the unjust law that Republicans still continue to defend at the taxpayers expense, is just days away from the beginning of the end. This Thursday, the Senate Judiciary Committee will meet to consider Sen. Diane Feinstein's legislation, the Respect for Marriage Act. The problem is they still need to collect 50,000 signatures.

Sign the HRC's petition now to push forward the DOMA repeal.

Most of you already know this but in case you don't:

"DOMA is an enormous obstacle to equality for same-sex couples and their families, denying them key marriage benefits and imposing harsh, unfair economic burdens.

They are deprived of crucial Social Security survivor benefits after a spouse passes away. They cannot file joint federal income taxes, and they cannot take unpaid leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act. Some couples are...

moustache season

Movember is here! We've replaced the N with an M, and if you recall from last year, M stands for moustache. In an effort to raise both funds and awareness for prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men, the Movember Movement was created. You can register here to raise money, donate or get involved. They even have a fancy new iPhone app to keep your stache in check. While the moustache itself has risen and fallen in popular throughout time, the premise that people will inevitably ask you about your lip warmer, holds true. I guess that's why in recent years, Movember has gotten so much buzz. Last year they raised 7.5 million dollars, proving that these moustaches are no joke.

Will you be participating in Movember this year? Be sure to take pictures if you do and post them on our facebook page.

Happy Movember to all!
