As I've gotten older my holiday wish list has slowly shifted from the material to the spiritual. I remember looking forward to the must have gifts during Chanukah and having a list of wants that far surpassed the standard 8 days of gifts. But as I've gotten older, there's not really many things I need to have, or rather, not many things I would want people to buy for me. Maybe it's because if there's something that I really want, I can get it myself, but I'd like to think that getting older has made me more about the gift of self improvement. And especially at the holiday time, I like to recognize the things I'm most thankful for.

This is not to say that I wouldn't love a new computer or 7 new pairs of jeans, a new winter coat, the $600 sweater I saw at Ralph Lauren, and fun new underwear. I still want all those things, but in a weird way, putting things like health and happiness on my list seem more realistic to me. Finding true love, that's on the list too, but whether that come this holiday season or the next, making myself good and ready for it is probably the best gift of all in the long run.

But you tell me fellas, as you've gotten older, have the things you've wanted most in life been more or less material?

Here's some Friday frivolity for you: singer Johnny McGovern is dickamatized. In the singer's new song is funny enough, but the hot guys in mesh shorts are what really sell the video.

To put it simply, being dickmatized is when you stay with a guy simply because the sex is good. You're basically powerless to a stop going back to this person because when it to comes to sexy times, he knows what he's doing and then some. And as most of know, if you're dickmatized you will find almost any excuse to go back to this person even if they end up treating you like shit. Our friends at Gawker point us to a scent related study today, that claims your nose can sniff out men with STDs. A handy trick if you know how to use it. "Researchers had long observed that certain animals, such as mice and rats, were not as attracted to the scents of other critters when they were infected with disease. They wondered whether humans, too, would be turned off by the scent of an infected person, particularly one harboring an STD...34 strapping Russian guys, ages 17 to 25, [donated] samples of armpit sweat and spit for the cause of science. The group included 13 young men with gonorrhea, 16 who were healthy and five who had had the disease but were successfully treated." As it turns out, they were right, the small study found that gonorrhea-infected men smelled "putrid" to a group of ladies. Yes, I'll say it again, we need a testing facility that does all of these crazy tests specific to gay guys. But the findings are interesting nonetheless.

Now I love a man scented Daddy as much as the next guy, but it looks like I'll have to sniff a little harder now before taking someone home.
