At a certain point, watching two men have sex gets boring. Porn gets boring. I've always needed some sort of plot or setup or uniform to fully engage with porn, but lately I feel like it's just the same thing over and over again. It's an ongoing conversation with some of my friends that there's nothing really that exciting out there anymore. I've veered into some different territories (some scarier than others) in an attempt to reignite the fire within, but I may have blown one too many loads and now find myself immune to porn's once beloved charms. I still scour the internet in search of something great, and I'm hopeful that the future of porn brings me back into the fold, but so far I've only found a few glimmers of hope.

One of those glimmers being ManRoyale.com (the link is wonderfully NSFW guys!). One of my friends introduced me to this site a few weeks ago, and it's prospects are exciting. We were both lamenting that visually porn has become a little stale and we were surprised that the industry hadn't adopted any of the new camera tech into the fold. HD is pretty common amongst most of the major sites like RandyBlue, and Dominic Ford does 3D, but I don't think I've ever seen anything as crisp, clear, or detailed as what Man Royale is shooting with. (And they shoot a lot). The difference in how they shoot is noticeable and they seem to be pros at lighting and setting up beautiful shots. I don't know about you, but finding old Falcon videos on the web always makes my day a little brighter. I'm all about the vintage porn, and those Falcon gems are some of the best. Even today they're still one of the best porn studios out there featuring some of the hottest guys in some pretty stellar films. But what I didn't know was the back story about it's founder Chuck Holmes. After founding the company in 1971, Chuck went on to became "one of gay cultures most unlikely heroes" and I'd really like to know why. Luckily there's a movie in the works to help explain.

I'm sure many of you heard about the recent ambush of English teacher Kevin Hogan, by Fox 25 in Boston. The news program (shamefully) exposed his gay adult film past, putting his job at the school in serious jeopardy. Conner Habib wrote a really great op-ed piece for The Advocate about who should be accountable in a situation like this. As a teacher, writer, and porn actor himself, Habib writes an intelligent and insightful article about the whole ordeal.

Is Hogan to blame for not revealing his past to his current employer or is there a lack of dialogue about why it's not okay for someone with a porn past to teach?

Sometimes porn sites lack diversity. There are far too many studios that cater exclusively to one type of guy, be it twinks, big muscle, or ethnicity. But for my monies worth, I like a site that offers variety. On any given day, what I'm in the mood for can vary greatly. There are days when I need a uniform, days when I need an elaborate setup complete with character and motivation, and occasional days when I want to see some double penetration. I was even impressed with the passionate music that seemed to swell as the stars became more intertwined and climaxed. Usually it's distracting, but in this particular instance it seemed to enhance my experience.
