As the largest city in the United States as well as one of the largest in the world, New York City boasts a huge population of any sort of group of people, including gays, primarily in Manhattan. Many areas of the city have been linked to gays during the cities long history. Chelsea is the city’s largest gay neighborhood in both area and population and has been the center of gay life for the past two decades. The West and East Village areas are also prominent areas for gay guys to populate. Hell’s Kitchen near midtown is yet another spot that has an increasing gay population. Although the epicenter of New York City’s gay life is in Manhattan, neighborhoods in other boroughs such as Cobble Hill and Park Slope in Brooklyn have notable gay populations as well.

For Daddies and older gay men in general, New York provides many appealing locations. The Monster and Ty’s are both West Village bars that attract an older crowd. Although many younger gay men are found in Chelsea, a number of bars in this part of the city such as Rawhide have dedicated daddy followings. On the east side of Manhattan, bars such as the Townhouse and the Boiler Room are where Daddies can meet young guys.

Younger gay men are populating New York City in increasing numbers as well. Neighborhoods such as Chelsea and Hell’s Kitchen are hot spots for Hunters in the city. Any type of bar or club can be sought out depending on your taste from dancing to cruising. Clubs such as The Ritz or Splash are go-to destinations for younger guys but are somewhat less accepting of older guys.

New York also contains a number of places for Bears and their followers. Bars such as The Eagle in Chelsea and Rockbar in the West Village both have large Bear-followings.
