As possibly one of the last places you would expect to find a thriving gay community, Salt Lake City has a small but active population of gays. The community comes together with some support of the surrounding city, and unlike most of the rest of Utah, Salt Lake City has a more accepting population. The few gay bars and clubs are scattered around the city so there is no one defined gay neighborhood in Salt Lake City.

For Daddies there is one bar in Salt Lake City that is a must. The Trapp in the Rio Grande area of Salt Lake City has a reputation for attracting older gay guys along with the Hunters that are looking to meet them. The bar is fairly quiet and relaxed, but late at night is when guys come to meet up and there is a bit more action. If you want a more action-oriented night, Club Blue provides a lot of eye candy on their many themed nights.

Younger guys in SLC should check out places like JAM for a place to meet other guys. The bar attracts a younger crowd but also has a good deal of older guys if that is what you are looking for. The increasing gay nightclub scene in Salt Lake City includes places like The Temple and Studio 27 which both have dance floors and loud music.
